HIPS7240

HIPS7240 is a very high impact polystyrene for the extrusion industry.

Description

HIPS7240

High Impact polystyrene

Product Description

HIPS7240 is a very high impact polystyrene for the extrusion industry. This grade has been designed to diluted with crystal polystyrene. The good melt strength of this grade makes it particularly suited for deep-draw thermoforming. HIPS7240 is available in white color.

Applications:

  • Extrusion : Darty sheet , Coextrusion with EVOH PE…, in dilution with crystal industrial sheet. Containers (up to 5 lit )
  • Thermoforming: Cups, Trays, Egg boxes, General packaging. Dilution with crystal for CD inserts, Shoe heels.

Process conditions:

HIPS7240 can be processed under different conditions depending on machinery available and articles moulded.

During processing of HIPS 7240 small quantities of styrene monomer may be released into the atmosphere. At styrene concentrations of 50 up to 100 PPM (TLV value for styrene monomer), no negative effects on health are expected.
